ILFORD industrial radiographic films are available in three types: Y4, Y5, and Y7. They are characterized by high sensitivity, high contrast, high resolution, and fine grain. They can be used directly or in conjunction with lead intensifying screens for exposure to X-rays or γ-rays. They are suitable for non-destructive testing in fields such as electronic components, composite materials, castings and welding, shipbuilding, defense and nuclear industry, and aerospace.

1. Overview

ILFORD industrial X-ray films are available in three types: Y4, Y5, and Y7. They are characterized by high sensitivity, high contrast, high resolution, and fine image granularity. They can be used directly or in conjunction with lead intensifying screens for exposure to X-rays or γ-rays. They are suitable for non-destructive testing in fields such as electronic components, composite materials, casting and welding, shipbuilding, national defense and nuclear industry, and aerospace.

3. Processing Methods

ILFORD industrial X-ray films are suitable for both manual processing at room temperature and high-temperature machine processing.

6. Film Usage and Storage Conditions

Films should be unpacked, loaded, and processed in a darkroom. The safety lamp should be a dark red safety lamp, at least 1.2 meters away. Films should be stored in a cool, dry place. The optimal storage conditions are a temperature of 10℃~23℃ and a relative humidity of 30%~65%. Strictly avoid storage in high-temperature, humid, radiation-containing, or chemically gaseous environments, and do not store them in the same room as processing chemicals. Use within the expiry date.

7. Film Shelf Life

The shelf life of films stored under compliant conditions is 30 months.
